TocPark combined team brings success

The first game of the season and the first played as the new combined u13 team of TocH and Broughton Park got off to a fantastic start at a very sunny Marple. With 19 TocPark players to choose from it was lining up to be a selection headache for the coaches, but a short handed Marple side came to their aid and ensured everyone got plenty of game time. The first half was a fairly one sided affair with Toc and Park players combining nicely to dominate possession and score well worked tries from Park players Ed, Nathan and Sam(2) and from Toc player Nathan. Second half saw a rearrangement of the loaned players and a much more even game. Marple scored their first try with a forceful run from their biggest player and then camped out in TocPark 22. Strong tackles and resilient defence held Marple to one more score before Archie (Park) and Nathan (Toc) went over to pull TocPark clear. Marple got a consolation try in the last move of the game but all in all TocPark were comfortable winners. 7 : 3 final score.
