TocPark Beaten by the Power of Sale

On a beautiful, barmy October morning the newly combined TocPark team faced a stiff challenge of Sale FC. From kick off 5 mins of hard tackling rugby followed with both sides being strong and looking to take control the initiative. After a period of strong defence from TocPark there was a a quick break up the right before the ball was passed to the left wing. The very speedy Luca, shimmying and beating 3 players to score in the left corner. A great start, 5-0 up. From kick off there was another great run from Luca and it was only a desperate tackle that stopped TocPark from doubling their lead. Sale then started to exert some control through their forwards. The equalised through a try from 2 yards (5-) and then after a bullocking run from on one of the Sale forwards the ball was switched to the right corner for a try, 5-10. The power of the Sale forwards started to tell and in the run up to half time they scored two more tries. Despite valiant defence from TocPark the score at half time was 5-20. Half time bought a raft of substitutions and more of the TocH players on the pitch. TocPark tried to exert themselves and take control. 5 minutes into the second half the TocPark defensive line was breached. (5-25) From a scrum where Sale looked to gain dominance, Sale performed a switch move to the left and the quick left winger dived in at the corner for a try (5-30) TocPark found it hard to get out their half, opting to receive the ball on a number of occasions. They were penned in their half and with the pressure building up Sale scored again through the left winger. (5-35) sales last try again came from the power of the forwards taking it up the middle before a try being scored in the right corner. (5-40) TocPark kept going and never gave up. All through the game they tackled bravely, competed at the break down and passed well. Their reward was to score the last try. A great move down the back line led to a try in the right hand corner for TocPark. (10-40) Last try wins?!. The try bought the final whistle. A fantastic effort from the newly formed team beaten by the organisation and power of Sale FC.
