Match preview vs LSH

Back to league rugby for the 1st XV this week after a much improved performance, despite the loss against Widnes in the Lancashire Cup semi final.

The coaches challenged the players to respond after the disappointing performance against Eccles by showing a bit more grit and heart in their game and this challenge was certainly met last Saturday. It is now important that the squad back this up and maintain the same level of performance and determination for the remainder of the season. The drive for this level of performance was highlighted by the 45+ players at training on Tuesday.

Squad consistency is proving a key factor in how the team is performing. The lads are looking very sharp in training and there is a collective understanding of why we want to achieve as a group both on and off the pitch.

LSH will pose a tough challenge, especially at home, and the lads are raring to go. It should be a cracker of a game, before another week off.

A top of the table clash for the 2nd XV as they face the only other unbeaten side, Prenton at Ford Lane. Strong performances and training numbers from the 2s will give the squad huge confidence going into this fixture.

The 3rd XV have a great chance to get some points on the board away to a Manchester 3s side who are also yet to win a game this season. Again, having a great number of 3s players regularly training with the whole squad should benefit their chances.
