TOC H V COLWYN BAY
COACHES REVIEW.
The boys have had a great 5 weeks in pre season. We have added new faces, and some old faces have returned to the squad.
This week was our first opportunity to show what we are working on in pre-season, by way of playing a pre season game.
Firstly, thank you to Colwyn Bay for inviting us down on Saturday and giving us the opportunity to be there for Sion and his family on a day for them.
The hospitality shown from Colwyn Bay was first class, and we hope to return the fixture next August in Didsbury.
Against a young, spirited, and hard-hitting Welsh outfit, I'm pleased with what our boys did. Like any pre-season game, we made errors, but overall, some of our attacking play was very pleasing on the eye, and evidence the boys have taken our new attacking principles onboard.
The 3rd period really please us coaches as we challenged the boys to build a higher phase count and win the territory battle after losing the 2nd quarter 2 tries to nil. They duly did this and won the 3rd quarter 3 tries to nil.
The attitude, energy, and effort from all players were very good, and i think we got exactly what we needed from the 29-10 victory.
This week, we build and improve again and will end pre-season week 6 playing level 6 Winnington Park.
Man of the Match- Zac Morton.
1st game at hooker, but he showed his back row energy and aggression.
