TOC H vs OLD RISHWORTHIANS COACHES REVIEW

The lads have made it 3 wins from 3 in what completes our preseason games.

The coaches are so happy with the progress of the whole squad with the rugby developing week on week. The variety in the tries we are scoring is very exciting and we cannot wait to get started into the proper campaign.

Having averaged a phase count of 3 for our previous 9 tries leading up to this game, it showed how dangerous we can be with ball in hand both off our own ball and turnover. This week we challenged the team to build the phases to break down the defence and they did just that. We must have gone 15-20 phases to score our first try last night.

With a 24-0 win the biggest thing to take from the game was not our improving attack but the nil. We haven’t really touched on defence yet in training as we have been working on our new style of attack so to show up and win without conceding, it is so promising.

Man of the match this week was Adam Pollock who popped up everywhere both in attack and defence.

Now into week 7 and the beginning of the prep for our first competitive game vs West Park in a couple of weeks.
