Forwards Maul Bolton

Didsbury reversed the original home fixture to travel away to Bolton due to the Mersey flood gates being opened following the torential weather. Didsbury opened the scoring in the early minutes with an 80m sprint from winger Paul Riley following a good turn over ball by the forwards. Bolton responded with some agressive attacking allowing their winger to chip over the flat Toc H defense and score under the posts, which was converted. Just before half time Didsbury forwards attacking play was illegally slowed down by the Bolton defence which resulted in a pentalty being awarded. Pete Davies kicked the penalty to allow Toc H a slim lead of 7-8.

Didsbury started the 2nd half much better than the 1st with an early penalty kicked into the corner. A pre-planned lineout move alowed the Didsbury forwards to use their effective rolling maul and send 2nd row Phil Cooper over in the corner. The forwards continued to dominate up front with good ball carrying forwards in Steve McDonough, Jon Walker & Cooper.
In almost an exact repeat of the previous try another 5m lineout and rolling maul resulted in a try for substitue flanker Gui Dalies.

Didsbury as last week finished the game much stronger but disapointingly failed to convert further scores against a weaker side.
