Didsbury had the luxury of naming one of their strongest line-ups this season, with Tom Makin returning from his foreign studies on the wing and the all-action backrow of Murphy, Foster and Andre Swan.
The underfoot conditions were surprising good, and only the gusting wind marred decent conditions for the game.
From the kickoff Didsbury dominated possession and territory, with the pack taking the visitors scrummage ball at regular intervals and the centre paring of Vasseur and Williams making easy ground through the midfield. The first try came early in the first half, with good handling finding French flyer Anton Vasseur on the loop around to touch down in the corner. The floodgates opened and the tries flowed, only indiscretions by Millom at the breakdown, the tricky kicking conditions, and some Didsbury missed opportunities kept the score down. The home side built up a healthy 39-0 halftime lead and were able to introduce some quality off the bench early in the second half, with the introductions of Mark Chambers, Mark Harrison, and Dave Hoare.
In total Didsbury scored 12 tries; Sean Bishop (4T + 2C), Swan (3T), Williams (2T), Vasseur (1T), Makin (1T), Hyde (1T) and Thomas (2C). But the team performance was good, with impressive displays from second row Craig Lawless and man of the match Aidan Murphy.
Next Saturday Didsbury welcome league leaders Fleetwood to Ford Lane, 2:15pm kick off.
