The wet weather last Saturday could have kerbed Didsbury's natural flowing game, but the home side put on an exhibition of all-weather rugby to put their mid-table visitors to the sword.
Didsbury’s pack put in a commanding performance from the first whistle, this forced Bury deep into their own half. Unable to successful clear the ball, Didsbury’s tries started flowing. The first came from hard running winger James Southall, he took the ball down the wing and through numerous tackles to score by the posts. The floodgates opened and Bury were powerless to stop the onslaught. The other tries came from Steve McDonough, Andy Lynn (2), James Eames, Dave Hoare (2), Andy Popoola (2), Sean Bishop and Pete Davies (2), the extras came form the boot of Euan Wilder (2 conversions) and Davies (5 conversions).
Another win, with another massive scoreline will please the hardworking coaches at Toc H. The whole squad is performing well and the selection headaches are good ones this season, trying to decide who to leave out of the starting line up. Didsbury have now scored 562 points in 11 league games and have the tightest defence in the league having only conceded a meagre 64 points. The team faces a big test over the next fortnight, next Saturday they face Douglas from the Isle of Man in the RFU northern division Senior Vase pool 1. Then to stretch the playing squad they face Trafford MV on the Sunday in the Lancashire Plate quarter finals. Both games are at Ford Lane, 2:15pm kick off’s.
