Didsbury were forced into a number of changes to the starting lineout, but they were able to welcome back captain Mike Hyde into the squad after a lengthy injury lay off.
All credit to the ground staff at Ford Lane as the pitches were in surprisingly decent condition, considering the recent rainfall. Hawcoat Park arrived late and Toc H took full advantage and started the game well.
Didsbury’s pack made good ground for their backline to make impressive inroads into the home sides defence. The first try came early in the first half and Hawcoat Park were unable to cope with the pace Didsbury were exerting.
Didsbury’s 12 tries were well shared around the team with Pete Davies (4), Rooney (2), Foster, Cooper, Gareth Price, Oakley, Wilder and Popoola all going over the tryline. Phil Cooper had a particularly impressive display making a number of telling runs and creating space for tries to be scored.
The victory brought up 640 points for Didsbury so far this season, in only twelve games. Toc H will also be pleased to see club captain Mike Hyde back playing, and will be looking for hi to build up his fitness over the coming weeks.
Next week Didsbury face Bolton, the only team to beat Didsbury this season, 2:15pm kick off at Ford Lane.
