The weather was hot and so was the pace that Didsbury started the game, the visiting pack pressed the home side deep in their own half and forced Bedians to scramble in defence. The tries started flowing with a well worked lineout move that saw prop Steve McDonough ground the ball. The tries continued through Dave Hoare (2), Aidan Murphy, Jim Southall, Dylan Williams and Andy Popoola. With the cup semi final the following day Didsbury, understandably took their foot of the gas and made a number of substitutions. There was still time for McDonough to complete his well deserved brace and Phil Cooper to score the try of the match with a 50 metre bullocking run. The kicking duties for the day were split between Gaz Oakley (4 conversions) and Sean Bishop (2 conversions).
A nine try rout was a good start to a long weekend for most of the squad, focus then turned to the Lancs Plate semi final the day after.
