Didsbury Toc H 4s v Bury 3s – 21/10/2017 Away

Bury win – 44-0

It was a bad day at the office for the men of the 4s.

Persistent heavy rain at the state of the pitches in Didsbury meant a last minute reversal of the fixture and a loss of some players unable to travel.

Despite playing on a pitch which had not been marked, in howling wind and with the rain lashing down at it was a solid start with some fantastic defensive play by Tony Martin, domination in the scrum, and some great runs by Greg making his Toc-H debut. While a few simple errors and slips meant and a disallowed try we were down at half time the mood was good and we were confident that the game could be pulled back.

As the 2nd half progressed, and despite having the weather on our side, heads dropped and the momentum that had carried us through the first half ran out. Bury capitalised on this and ran in several tries extending their lead and held of all our attempts to get points on the board.

Not our finest hour but we soldier on.
